Everest Base Camp via Jiri

Trekking to Everest Base camp via Jiri can be the best options for the trekkers who wish have a long and detailed expedition through the natural beauty and around Khumbu region. The trek can be arduous and challenging but rewarding at the same time.  It is adventurous and thrilling experience as it takes you up and down through the rugged Himalayan terrain to the lap of Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak.

The bus travel from Kathmandu to Jiri begins our journey. We start the trek on foot from Jiri. We pass through village areas observing culture and lifestyle of Sherpa people enjoying the traditional authentic food in their warm and hospitable tea houses along the way. We can see people using Yaks to carry goods around. We can also find rich Buddhist culture through several monasteries and stupas throughout the trek. In addition, we see prayer wheels and prayer flags decorating the areas. Also, huge rocks carved and painted with Buddhist mantras can be spotted at several places around the trail.

The natural beauty of pine, rhododendron and juniper forest along the way add charm to our trek. Many uphill and downhill trails are there along the way. We pass through numerous rivers and suspension bridges as well. Despite the rugged terrain, the tea houses and lodges around the region are well kept, homely and welcoming where we get to have a comfortable rest.

The mountainous beauty fills our eyes on our trek ahead with a breathtaking view of Mount Everest, Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Lhotse, Thamserku, Pumori and many others. The best view of mountains can be observed from the top of Kala Patthar from where 360 ◦ views of a mountain range can be seen.
