Bhutan is a South Asian country that lies between India and China. It is rich in natural beauty with beautiful landscapes and mountainous peaks. The country is also rich in diverse flora and fauna. In this ‘Explore Bhutan’ tour we will be exploring major tourist sites and destinations around Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. We will also spend time in sightseeing and enjoying the beauty of nature. Bhutan offers amazing view of mountains along with unique culture, tradition and lifestyle of Bhutanese will give you an amazing experience.
As Bhutan follows Tibetan Buddhist region, there are quite a number of monasteries, gompas and chortens. You will be visiting the famous Taksang Monastery and Lungchutse monastery. In addition, we will also visit the famous historical forts. We will explore around and get some information on them. During the tour we also get to view the mountain peaks like Mount Chomolhari, Jichu Drake and many others that make our trip more enjoyable. We will then explore around the capital of Bhutan- Thimpu and visit the zoo there.

Fly from Paro to Kathmandu
We will fly from Kathmandu to Paro, Bhutan today. We can enjoy the exotic views from the flight. Once at Paro our team member will drive you to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. You will then get time to take rest and spend night at the hotel.
We will spend the day exploring around Thimpu. We will start the tour by visiting the famous museum there which houses the exciting history of traditional art, craft and sculpture. Then another site on our tour would be the national library. The library has nice collection of historical and religious scriptures. We will be visiting the zoo next. We will end our day’s tour with our visit to Tango monastery. We will then get back to the hotel for the night.
We start the day with a drive to Dochula Pass. We get to view the spectacular view of Himalayas from there. From Dochula Pass we then hike towards Lungchutse monastery. The walk is accompanied by rhododendron forest and view of mountains. We will then head towards Punakha. We will walk around some villages on our way. Night at Punakha.
Today we will drive from Punakha to Gangtey valley. After few hours’ drive we will reach Gangtey valley. It is situated at a nice height from where the surrounding view of mountains can be seen from close. There is also the Gangtey Gompa nearby. And there is a small settlement area near the Gompa where mostly the monks reside. We will spend our time exploring the valley. We will then head back to Punakha and spend the night there.
We start with a drive towards north of Punakha. On the way we stop and hike towards a beautiful hill that will take us to a chorten. We hike for some more time and enjoy the view and surrounding. We then head back to Punakha. On the way we visit Punakha Dzong, a famous historical site. After the tour we drive back to Paro and spend the night there.
We will hike towards Taksang monastery which is popularly known as Tiger’s nest. There will be steep uphill climbing before reaching the monastery. This is one of the famous monasteries in Bhutan with historical significance. People believe that Guru Rinpoche had once meditated at this same place where there was a cave once. After that, we will hike down back and head towards Paro. We will spend some time exploring around. Night will be spent at Paro.
Today is our last day at Bhutan. We take a flight to Kathmandu enjoying the view of Himalayas on our way. After arrival at Kathmandu we then head towards hotel. In the evening we might stroll around the city and do some shopping. We offer you farewell dinner and celebrate the completion of the tour and prepare for final departure tomorrow.
